"The Greater Lake Tahoe Area and Western Nevada Basin and Range including Pyramid Lake are the focus of an updated lake wind advisory issued at 9:42 a.m. on Monday by the National Weather Service. The advisory is valid between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. The NWS Reno NV adds to expect, Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and waves 1 to 3 feet."
"Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve, according to the NWS. Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.
