"Horsemen known as yeguerizos take part in the traditional saca de las yeguas (collecting of horses) in Donana national park, near the coast in south-western Spain. The annual event, which has been running since 1504, involves collecting semi-wild horses, which are herded to Almonte town to be cleaned, branded and blessed by a priest before being sold. "One of the four beavers released into the wild at Purbeck Heath national nature reserve last March. They have had an eventful summer: one beaver left her mate and swam around the point to Swanage, where she set up home in a stream by a busy road, next to a public toilet block. National Trust officials duly took her back to the reserve, where her mate welcomed her back with, apparently, no hard feelings (they were seen rubbing noses)."
"A police officer in St Polten, west of Vienna in Austria, tracks the progress of a moose as he explores the town. The moose, nicknamed Emil, is thought to have come from Poland via the Czech Republic, and has been wandering around Austria for nearly three weeks, to residents' delight. Traditional saca de las yeguas in Donana national park gathers semi-wild mares annually for cleaning, branding, blessing, and sale, with unsold animals released back to roam. Off Devon’s south coast a large bluefin tuna, about seven feet long, vaulted from the sea while hunting garfish, reportedly flinging small garfish tens of feet into the air. Four beavers reintroduced at Purbeck Heath experienced an eventful season: one temporarily settled near Swanage and was returned to the reserve and reunited with its mate, while another died, possibly from saltwater exposure. A moose nicknamed Emil wandered around Austrian towns. Anteaters were released into El Avila national park.
