Kintsugi, a startup from Silicon Valley, has secured $18 million in funding led by Vertex to enhance its AI-driven tax compliance solutions. The company focuses on aiding small and medium enterprises in managing sales tax across 171 countries efficiently. With the rise of e-commerce and more complex tax regulations, Kintsugi integrates with various revenue platforms to provide instant tax calculations. Cofounder Pujun Bhatnagar emphasizes that their solution is significantly more affordable than competitors like Avalara, allowing users to manage their tax obligations swiftly and easily.
Our goal is like what Uber did for taxi cabs and Stripe did for credit card payments. We want to do it for the compliance piece in 171 countries.
We are half the cost of Avalara, and we replace the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) as well. Just a regular operator can install our app in seven clicks and three minutes.
