Three siblings from Hackney—Thomas (17), Katie (14), and Phoebe (10)—are prominent young BMX racers with notable recent successes. Thomas will compete at the World Championships in Brisbane while Katie and Phoebe enter the season as reigning national champions in their age groups. The family received a bursary from Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL) to support gym sessions and training. The trio train most Tuesdays at Lee Valley VeloPark in Stratford, the London 2012 BMX venue. BMX became an Olympic sport in 2008 and has grown in popularity, with Team GB first medalling in the discipline at Tokyo 2021.
