Barcelona 5-2 Sevilla, La Liga: Recap
"A game that could have been difficult was made pretty easy for Barça early on thanks to Sevilla conceding two very dumb penalties, both of which were scored by Raphinha to put the Blaugrana in front by a comfortable margin in the opening 20 minutes."
"The Catalans were in full control and could manage the game while still trying to find a third goal, which came in sensational fashion thanks to a glorious passing sequence that ended with a great finish from Dani Olmo to pretty much kill the contest."
"Flick was able to rest several of his key players after the fifth goal, but the sweetest substitution came with 10 minutes to go as Gavi returned from a six-month absence and received an amazing ovation from the crowd as the replaced Raphinha."
Barcelona secured a dominant 5-2 victory over Sevilla at Camp Nou with over 60,000 fans in attendance. Raphinha scored a hat-trick, including two penalty conversions in the opening 20 minutes after Sevilla's defensive errors. Dani Olmo added a third goal through an impressive passing sequence. Despite Sevilla scoring before halftime to make it 3-1, Barcelona maintained control. In the second half, Raphinha completed his hat-trick and João Cancelo scored a solo goal to make it 5-1. Manager Hansi Flick rested key players, including Pedri for the Newcastle match, and notably brought on Gavi after a six-month injury absence to a standing ovation.
