Amanda Seyfried revealed she wore a prosthetic butthole while filming nude scenes for The Testament of Ann Lee, a biographical film about 18th-century religious figure Ann Lee. The film required graphic nudity, including birth scenes and torture sequences. Seyfried described feeling free despite extensive nude scenes, using various prosthetics including vaginal prosthetics for birth scenes. Though the prosthetic butthole isn't visible in the final film, Seyfried wore it as a precaution. She explained her comfort measures were necessary for the film's graphic nature and authentic portrayal of the historical narrative.
