Green Day just made the next great teen comedy
"The eternally young Bay Area punk rockers have been around the block for decades, writing hit albums, chipping in to save local bars, headlining festivals, skewering politicians and even releasing their music in the form of a big mouth bass. The latest accolade to add to their resume is the title of film producers. Created in partnership with Live Nation Productions, "New Year's Rev" is a teen road-trip comedy that premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival."
"The film opens with the camera traversing through the halls of a high school as Green Day's "Welcome to Paradise" plays as the soundtrack. Eventually, the camera lands on a trio of teenage wannabe punk musicians in a band called Analog Dogs, discussing how they plan to sneak into an upcoming Green Day concert. They head home and then play a prank on one band member's older brother, kicking away a ladder and leaving him stuck on the roof after putting up Christmas decorations."
Green Day produced the teen road-trip comedy "New Year's Rev," created in partnership with Live Nation Productions and premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival. The film opens with Green Day's "Welcome to Paradise" as the soundtrack and follows Analog Dogs, a trio of teenage wannabe punk musicians. The teens record a demo, meet Billie Joe Armstrong, and later accept an invitation supposedly from Mike Dirnt to open a New Year's Eve show at the Hollywood Palladium. The group borrows an older brother's car, plays impromptu sets in dive bars, develops a crush, and stays in a creepy hotel managed by Fred Armisen.
