The sound is real, but it's merely simulated gunfire during a dream sequence episode as the third season of 13 Reasons Why filming gets underway.
The simulated guns used have one-quarter load strength of a real gun, there will be sounds like a pop, said Lt. Mike Nichelin of the Vallejo Police Department.
A certified armorer (gun expert) is on site as a safety precaution, common in the movie industry, Nichelini said.
We’re trying to make it a nice harmony between the movie industry and the people who live and work here, Nichelni said, believing the Netflix series is a real positive for Vallejo.
