Olmsted Is Closing in Prospect Heights
Briefly

Chef Greg Baxtrom announced the closure of his restaurant Olmsted on Instagram, set for August 17, after nearly a decade in operation. Named after landscape architect Fredrick Law Olmsted, the restaurant opened to much acclaim in 2016 but efforts to save it fell through. Baxtrom previously closed another restaurant, Patti Ann's, and continues to operate 5 Acres. Olmsted featured a working garden and creative seasonal dishes, becoming a significant culinary destination in Brooklyn despite higher-than-usual prices for the neighborhood.
Baxtrom says, "Deciding to close a restaurant is one of the hardest decisions to make, especially after almost a decade of memories and experiences."
Olmsted was originally focused on steak-and-potatoes, but its offerings evolved into some of the most innovative and acclaimed dishes in Brooklyn.
