The recall followed discovery of a manufacturing defect in the easy-open tab that may compromise the product seal. The FDA warned the cans could be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, which can cause potentially fatal food poisoning by attacking nerves and causing breathing difficulty. Customers should throw away the tuna.
