"Gillie's Coney Island is preparing for its second annual Bigfoot Festival set to take place from Sept. 20-21 at the restaurant, located at 6524 N. Dort Highway in Genesee Township. The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days and feature food specials, shopping opportunities with local vendors, and free photo opportunities with a costumed Bigfoot. Manager Amy Graham said the inaugural event drew strong community interest, prompting them to bring it back for a second year."
""We were looking for things to do to involve the community in," Graham said. "My general manager is huge into Bigfoot. "We have Bigfoot decorations around the restaurant and she goes to festivals. She thought we should do one here." In addition to entertainment, the festival is also open to vendors. Gillie's Coney Island is currently taking applications from businesses and organizations interested in setting up shop during the weekend event. For more information or vendor applications, Gillie's Coney Island can be reached at 810-686-1200."
