"Then at 11:30 a.m., Scott Wiener of Scott's Pizza Tours will host a live auction of the artwork, with all proceeds supporting Slice Out Hunger's nationwide initiatives. While bidding, guests can grab a slice from Brooklyn DOP, and parents can even upload their child's artwork to Pixyit to print it on a tote bag, hat or other keepsake. The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and preregistration is required for the workshop."
"The event, held in partnership with neighborhood favorite Brooklyn DOP, benefits Slice Out Hunger , a non-profit that connects pizzerias across the country with hunger relief efforts. Slice Out Hunger was originally founded in New York City, and has raised over $2 million "to fund hunger relief efforts across the U.S." They collaborate with over 700 "pizza partners" across the country through pizzeria owners, caterers and enthusiasts. Slice Out Hunger also famously hosts Pizza on the Pier at Brooklyn Bridge Park annually."
Art & Pizza invites Clinton Hill families to a hands-on kids' workshop and live auction at Private Picassos Art Studio on Saturday, Oct. 4. From 10 to 10:45 a.m., children create pizza-inspired drawings and collages with instructors; at 11:30 a.m. Scott Wiener will host a live auction of the artwork. All auction proceeds support Slice Out Hunger's nationwide hunger relief initiatives. Guests can sample pizza from Brooklyn DOP and parents can print children's designs on keepsakes via Pixyit. The event runs 10 a.m.–12 p.m. and requires preregistration. Private Picassos operates studios in Clinton Hill and Park Slope.
