"We are a large organization,"
"Until we get to the full goal, we are still in need of support."
"to eliminate the accumulated deficit and build an operating cash reserve."
"The continued campaign has a lot of momentum, and I feel very excited about where we are, Every day we're getting closer to our next benchmark."
Portland Center Stage launched a 14-month Save Portland Center Stage fundraising campaign in May 2025 to raise $9 million by June 2026. The campaign exceeded its first benchmark of $2.5 million by the end of August. The company still needs another $2.5 million by the end of December 2025 to eliminate an accumulated deficit and build an operating cash reserve. Beyond that, an additional $4 million in annual operating gifts is targeted by June 2026. Financial pressures reflect Covid-era effects, tight city and state budgets, donor competition for urgent social needs, and reductions in federal aid. Donors remain stretched, making end-of-year contributions important to meeting benchmarks.
