Check out the Realme GT 8 Pro and its interchangeable camera housing
"The Realme GT 8 series is set to launch in China next week and it will be the first phone from the brand to feature custom Ricoh Imaging tuning. Apart from the fancy camera hardware, Realme will also offer some modular customization options with interchangeable modules for the camera housing. The camera housing or deco features two Torx screws on the side, which hold the module in place."
"The system appears to use magnets, allowing you to instantly snap the housing into place and then attach the two screws to secure it. Realme revealed it will offer square, round, and robot styles with varying material finishes and colors. It remains to be seen if Realme will exclusively make these camera housings or if third-party makers will also join in. We're also wondering how this modular approach will allow for easier repairability."
The Realme GT 8 series will launch in China next week and will be the first Realme phone to feature custom Ricoh Imaging tuning. The devices include modular customization with interchangeable camera-housing modules. The camera housing uses two Torx screws and a magnetic alignment system that allows instant snapping and then securing with screws. Realme will offer square, round, and robot housing styles with different materials and colors. Availability of third-party modules remains unclear, and the modular approach could improve repairability. The GT 8 Pro will also use a paper-like recycled leather back that is reportedly wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant and just 0.02mm thick.
