Samsung confirms the S Pen is here to stay
"We're working on a more advanced technology within S Pen to come up with a new structure of display, so the penalty of having S Pen is diminished. S Pen will continue to be one of the core technologies."
"Samsung removed the S Pen's Bluetooth functionality with last year's Galaxy S25 Ultra, leading some to believe the Korean brand would ditch the S Pen with the recently announced Galaxy S26 Ultra. Fortunately, that didn't happen."
Samsung has confirmed the S Pen will remain a core technology in future devices despite removing Bluetooth functionality from the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Won-Joon Choi, COO of Samsung's Mobile Experience Business, revealed the company is working on advanced S Pen technology with a new display structure designed to minimize the performance drawbacks associated with the stylus. Samsung has not yet decided on successors for the Galaxy S25 Edge and Galaxy Z TriFold. However, the company is exploring a wider version of the Galaxy Z Fold, with evidence of this model appearing in One UI 9 code.
