LG is set to retire its update servers for phones on June 30, 2025, following its exit from the smartphone business in 2021. Users of LG devices like the Velvet and Wing should download any updates before the deadline, as only security patches and limited Android upgrades are available until then. While devices will continue to function post-deadline, they will no longer receive improvements or fixes. Additionally, the LG Bridge PC software, used for file transfers and device management, will also be discontinued at that time.
Time is running out for people who are still using LG phones to download any remaining Android updates before their devices are fully retired.
As LG prepares to shut down its update servers on June 30, 2025, customers are advised that software updates will be completely inaccessible after this date.
