Nine additional blue plaques will be installed across London in 2026 to honor figures from science, photography, film, literature, performance, journalism, activism and military history. Honorees include Julia Margaret Cameron, Brigadier Dudley Clarke, Jill Craigie, Kamal Chunchie, Dusé Mohamed Ali, Laurence Olivier, Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin, Gertrude Tuckwell and Stefan Zweig. The plaques commemorate individuals whose lives and work helped shape London's intellectual, cultural and social landscape. The London Blue Plaques scheme runs on public suggestions. Eligibility requires subjects to have been deceased for at least 20 years and for at least one Greater London building associated with them to survive with a substantially unaltered exterior.
