The company noticed unauthorized activity across its IT systems and decided to take some systems offline. An investigation is underway with law enforcement involvement. The attack highlights the growing issue of ransomware in the retail sector, where sensitive customer data makes organizations appealing targets. In response, the firm is collaborating with stakeholders to minimize operational disruptions while assessing the unauthorized activity.
