Clayton McCullough, who spent a decade with the Los Angeles Dodgers, has transitioned to the Miami Marlins as their new manager. Under manager Dave Roberts, McCullough was instrumental in the Dodgers’ success, particularly as first base coach and during his time as farm director. The Dodgers recognized McCullough's contributions by presenting him with a 2024 World Series ring and jersey, highlighting his positive influence on players and the team's game strategies. Both Roberts and McCullough express mutual admiration and respect as he embarks on this new chapter.
"Clayton is a very, very special person. A very special coach. The Marlins got a really good one," Roberts said.
"He helped us win a championship. For me, it's a guy who loves people, loves players, loves the game, always wants to learn and really see people thrive."
"He was a game-changer. When he was here, he was the farm director in the Minor Leagues, so he has that under his belt," Roberts said.
"I miss him dearly, but I'm happy to see he can sort of make his own way now."
