Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw close to Signing NBC deal: report
"[Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman] mentioned something where I could hang out," Kershaw said. "That's good, man. I don't know what that looks like. But this is a special organization. They don't need me to win World Series. That's obvious. But if there's anything I can do in the future to be part of it, be around it, I hope that's the case."
"I think first and foremost is for me to have this fifth kid and be a dad for awhile," Kershaw said. "I don't think there's any full-time jobs in my immediate future."
Clayton Kershaw is nearing a role with NBC to assist studio coverage of Major League Baseball, including Peacock's upcoming baseball package and NBC's Sunday Night Baseball and first-round postseason rights. Kershaw retired after the 2025 regular season but announced he will play for Team USA in the 2026 World Baseball Classic. Kershaw previously stated he did not plan to take a full-time job immediately in order to focus on family and a new child, yet he has accepted part-time media duties. The Dodgers offered him a role to remain around the organization, and Kershaw left MLB as an MVP, three-time World Series and Cy Young winner and 11-time All-Star.
