Dodgers considering dark horse candidate for rotation
"I think his ability to grow and mature and learn how to harness his stuff and compete in those moments will serve him well as he tries to navigate a lineup two, three times. He'll certainly be a candidate. He was also so good out of the 'pen, we have to weigh that."
"As of now, the Dodgers' rotation is completely open, at least to begin the season. Tyler Glasnow and Yoshinobu Yamamoto are sure to have a spot at the beginning of the season, but Blake Snell and Shohei Ohtani have big question marks hanging above them as far as pitching on Opening Day pitching is concerned."
"Both Stone and Ryan are coming back from season-long injuries, so if the Dodgers were to look at someone to fill the spot who can immediately undertake a full workload, it would make sense for them to look at Wrobleski as someone who has started games before."
Justin Wrobleski, 25, has appeared 32 times for the Dodgers over two seasons with eight starts. His career ERA stands at 4.81 with 102 strikeouts through 103 innings. He showed significant improvement late in 2025, allowing runs in only two of his final eight regular season appearances. During the postseason, Wrobleski did not allow a run across four appearances, including two World Series games. Dodgers president of baseball operations Friedman indicated Wrobleski will be considered for the rotation while acknowledging his value as a relief pitcher. The Dodgers' rotation remains largely unsettled heading into 2026, with only Glasnow and Yamamoto guaranteed spots.
