Yoendrys Gómez, a right-handed pitcher, has moved to the Chicago White Sox after being claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers. Previously a New York Yankees prospect, he debuted in the MLB in 2023. Despite a promising start with a 2.70 ERA earlier this season, Gómez struggled significantly with the Dodgers, culminating in a 14.54 ERA over his last appearances. The White Sox made room for him on their roster by releasing Greg Jones.
Gómez had a short stint with the Dodgers that seemingly was tied to struggling in two of three appearances, with a 14.54 ERA over 4.1 innings.
The right-hander made his MLB debut in 2023 and, over parts of three years with the Yankees, went 1-1 with a 3.09 ERA in 12 games.
