Ela Minus has collaborated with Nick León to create remixes of her track "QQQQ." The new EP includes two remixes by León—an "Apocalypto Mix" and an extended club mix—alongside Minus' own club and live edits. Ela Minus expressed that this is the first time she had significant input on a remix, with a back-and-forth exchange of ideas. After live performances, she recorded a new version of the song for the EP. Additionally, she will be touring in North America this autumn.
Nick's remixes feel like a collaboration. It's the first time I've had so much input on a remix of my music. We were sending versions back and forth.
Two came out of the process: a straight-on extended club mix (which the original was always calling for) and then a beatless version which we called 'Apocalypto remix.'
After playing it live, the shows ignited something new in it, or in me when I play it, so I recorded a new live version included in this EP.
Minus shared Día in January. She also appeared on the single 'Ghost Orchid', from León's great new album, A Tropical Entropy.
