"You know, most of the people did not eat all day long. So when they come out, everybody is famished, you know? They say, 'Wolfgang, where is the mac and cheese? Where is the chicken pot pie?' And people really love it. When I made that for the first time, Barbra Streisand ate three of them!"
"My son, Byron, is making a pasta here, the agnolotti with artichoke and truffles. The apple strudel, I'd say, is an absolute must over there on the dessert section. And of course, each Hollywood A-lister at the Governors Ball gets a dark chocolate mini Oscar statuette."
Wolfgang Puck and his son Byron will cater the Governors Ball, the Academy's official post-Oscars celebration, for the 32nd consecutive year. They will serve 1,600 guests an extensive 84-item menu. Puck notes that attendees arrive hungry after fasting throughout the day and gravitate toward comfort foods like mac and cheese and chicken pot pie alongside premium offerings such as Japanese Wagyu steak. Byron is preparing agnolotti with artichoke and truffles, while the dessert menu features apple strudel. Each guest receives a dark chocolate mini Oscar statuette as a special treat.
