Bigots are raging at a male pregnancy NHS diagram that doesn't technically exist
"The diagram first appeared in a now-deleted post on X/Twitter, which claimed it had been created by the NHS and hung on a wall in King's College Hospital, a teaching hospital in London. Unexpectedly, an array of gender-critical, right wing and anti-LGBTQ+ users quickly flooded the post, enraged at the NHS for daring to represent trans masculine men, who, in fact, are able to get pregnant."
"Regardless, haters still took it as a chance to spread inaccurate claims that men can't get pregnant (although, more positively, after it was shared on Facebook by US activist Eli Erlick, many people wrote positive comments praising the image's inclusivity). At the end of the day, it is a fact that trans men still have a uterus and so can get pregnant, whether gender-critical figures like it or not."
An infographic depicting a male-presenting pregnant person circulated online claiming it was displayed at King's College Hospital. NHS King's College Hospital said the image was not produced by the trust nor on display in any of its hospitals. Reverse image searches point to The Educated Birth, a US company that creates pregnancy educational materials. The post attracted gender-critical, right-wing and anti-LGBTQ+ responses that spread inaccurate claims that men cannot get pregnant. Other users praised the image's inclusivity. Trans men can retain a uterus and therefore can become pregnant; Thomas Beatie's 2007 case is cited as the first recorded birth by a man after gender-affirming surgery.
