State transportation crews have removed rainbow street art across Florida, prompting local officials and businesses to create alternative tributes. In Delray Beach, the state sandblasted a rainbow intersection after city officials declined to remove it; city commissioners brainstormed creating a Pride Street, murals on a parking garage, or light displays on a water tower. In Orlando, the state blacked out a Pulse memorial crosswalk and arrested people who chalked colors; private businesses painted tributes, including 49 parking spots at Se7enBites and a large progress pride flag by MojoMan Swimwear. Gainesville saw multiple rainbow murals and student-painted displays at the Norman Tunnel.
