House of Lords denies Progress Pride flags were removed due to complaint
Briefly

The House of Lords faced scrutiny after Progress Pride flags were displayed in its canteen for Pride Month. Following complaints from Baroness Emma Nicholson, known for her anti-LGBTQ+ stance, the flags were removed. The House clarified that their removal was planned and not a direct result of Nicholson's objection. The flags were part of a temporary display celebrating diversity within the LGBTQ+ community, and their removal sparked conversations about representation and inclusivity, especially in governmental spaces.
"The superb River Restaurant in the House of Lords has had the decorations that I pictured removed. The food remains as stunning as before," she continued.
"A spokesperson for the House of Lords clarified to PinkNews that the 'informal' decorations had not been removed because of Nicholson's request, but instead were taken down at an 'appropriate point' after marking the beginning of Pride Month."
