The Hive, a non-discriminatory community hub in Kirkcaldy, criticised the Fife Flyers after the team decided to wear Pride-themed jerseys only for warm-ups and to play the match in standard home jerseys. The Flyers said the approach balanced support for Pride Night with respect for diverse backgrounds and personal beliefs and announced a post-game auction of the Pride jerseys to benefit The Hive. The Hive said it had no knowledge of the change, described itself as disappointed, refused donations and left the match, and launched a fundraiser that doubled its £1,000 goal. Fife Pride expressed anger and insisted Pride is not optional.
