Kieran Morrison, a 19-year-old versatile winger, has been included in Northern Ireland's squad for the World Cup play-off semi-final against Italy. The Liverpool academy product joined from Manchester United in 2019 and signed a three-year professional contract in 2024. Morrison has made two senior appearances for Liverpool in cup competitions and trains regularly with Arne Slot's first team. This season, he has scored 14 goals for Liverpool's Under-21s and was appointed captain, earning praise from U21 manager Rob Page for his leadership and work ethic. Manager Michael O'Neill deemed it the right time to include the uncapped teenager in the squad for one of Northern Ireland's most significant matches.
