Fire in Primrose Hill sparks travel disruptions across the country

"A huge fire in Primrose Hill, Camden, earlier caused train services cancelled or seriously delayed at peak time for commuters this afternoon. The fire brigade received 27 calls from concerned members of the public about the fire above the railway tracks in Regent's Park Road, Primrose Hill, at around 9.30am. Firefighters put out the huge blaze in Primrose Hill About 10 fire engines and 70 firefighters were sent to the incident, which was in the former Primrose Hill station which closed down in 1992."

"The building is now home to shops. Train services on the UK's main intercity rail line were severely disrupted throughout the day but were mostly running again by the late evening. Trains going to Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow from London Euston were suspended. Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Trains were impacted the most by the fire. There was major disruption between Euston and Watford,"

A large fire broke out above the railway tracks on Regent's Park Road in Primrose Hill, Camden, around 9:30am, prompting 27 emergency calls. About 10 fire engines and 70 firefighters attended and extinguished the blaze in the former Primrose Hill station building, now occupied by shops. Train services on the West Coast Main Line were severely disrupted during peak hours, with services from London Euston to Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow suspended and major disruption between Euston and Watford. Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern were most affected, and several Overground lines experienced delays. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
