A suspected knifeman in Leicester Square was pinned down by members of the public and later detained by security after police were called at 01:08hrs to reports of a man threatening members of the public. Footage shows the man, wearing a black coat, trousers and a blue rucksack, holding up what appeared to be a knife while being subdued. Four men in their 20s and 30s suffered injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing. A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, affray and possession of a Class B drug, and has been detained under the Mental Health Act.
