'Bakerloop' bus route launches in autumn, TfL says
Briefly

The upcoming Bakerloop bus route, known as the BL1, is set to launch in autumn, connecting Waterloo and Lewisham as part of TfL's Superloop network. It will mirror the proposed Bakerloo Tube line extension, serving areas like Old Kent Road and Burgess Park. Feedback during the consultation was largely positive, prompting adjustments for efficiency. The bus will run every 12 minutes during the day and plans for additional routes will start consultations in the autumn. Local officials believe this development is a critical step in addressing transport gaps in the region.
The BL1 express bus service will run between Waterloo and Lewisham and is part of the Superloop network expansion.
Mayor of Lewisham, Brenda Dacres said: "Lewisham welcomes the launch of the Bakerloop bus... this must be just the beginning."
