Elizabeth Line incident: Person dies at Hanwell station with passengers facing major delays

A person was tragically pronounced dead on the tracks at Hanwell railway station after emergency services responded to reports of a casualty. The British Transport Police indicated that the incident is not suspicious, and they will prepare a file for the coroner. Following this incident, major disruptions were reported on the Elizabeth line, Heathrow Express, and Great Western Railway services. Although all lines reopened after emergency services completed their work, delays and cancellations continued as the trains resumed operations, with disruptions expected to last until 3 PM.
Officers were called at around 11am today to reports of a casualty on the tracks at Hanwell railway station. Sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
The emergency services have completed their work between London Paddington and Southall, allowing all lines to reopen. However, trains running between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport / Reading may still be cancelled, revised or delayed by up to 30 minutes as the service recovers.
