"The pedestrian, aged in his 80s, was struck on Station Road, Bray, Co. Wicklow shortly before 6pm. The road currently remains closed pending an examination by Forensic Collision Investigators. Inspectors for Go Ahead Ireland are also currently on site, where the bus remains in situ."
"An eyewitness who works in one of the nearby retail units said the man was struck while close to or on the pedestrian crossing, in front of the Carlisle Grounds. Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward."
"Road users and pedestrians who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, and were in the area between 5:40pm and 6:10pm, are asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí. Anyone with information is asked to contact Bray Garda Station on (01) 666 5300."
A pedestrian in his 80s was hit by a bus on Station Road in Bray, Co. Wicklow shortly before 6pm on Thursday evening. The collision occurred near or on a pedestrian crossing in front of the Carlisle Grounds. The victim was taken to St Vincent's University Hospital. Station Road remains closed for examination by Forensic Collision Investigators, and Go Ahead Ireland inspectors are on site. Bus services from Dart station have been redirected to Florence Road or Bray Main Street. Gardaí are seeking witnesses and requesting any available camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, from the period between 5:40pm and 6:10pm.
