Car anti-social order could widen in Westminster

Westminster Council is proposing to extend its public space protection order (PSPO) to deter anti-social vehicle behaviours like engine revving and car racing in Soho and Mayfair. The recommendation arises from a report highlighting significant issues, particularly on Bond Street, where 33 car meets were reported between April 2023 and June 2025. To date, the council has issued 368 fixed penalty notices for violations of the existing PSPO. Community feedback during the renewal process indicated overwhelming support for the PSPO expansion to address public safety concerns.
