Bethany recalled that night and the fateful shots: 'We had methanol-laced shots. We had five or six each, just mixing them with Sprite.'
She launched a petition emphasizing the dangers of methanol, saying, 'Steer clear, drink beer' is a warning designed to prevent future tragedies.
Reflecting on their trip, Bethany admitted, 'It felt like being drunk but in a way where you couldn't enjoy it. Something was just off.'
Bethany described their physical deterioration: 'We were just lying on the backs of the kayaks,... too weak to paddle. Simone was being sick off one of them.'
