Motorists urged to avoid area as protesters block road and Luas outside Heuston Station

A group of approximately 20 protesters is currently blocking roads outside Heuston Station in Dublin, resulting in significant delays for commuters and motorists. Authorities have advised drivers to avoid St John's Road West due to the blockage affecting all roads and the Luas Red Line. Additionally, the Red Line is already experiencing delays because of a prior medical emergency. Commuters are being informed that Luas tickets can be used on Dublin Bus during this disruption, while Green Line services remain unaffected.
"Motorists have been advised to avoid St John's Road West outside the station as demonstrators are blocking all roads and the Luas Red Line," Dublin City Council's Traffic Management Centre said.
"Luas tickets are valid on Dublin Bus for the duration of this disruption. We apologise for any inconvenience caused. All Green Line services are operating normally."
