A rare Union flag that flew on the Royal Sovereign during the historic Battle of Trafalgar will be sold for £450,000 at the Treasure House Fair. This flag is the second sale of a significant battle relic, originally belonging to an officer's family until the 1970s. Expert Martyn Downer has authenticated it, correcting its provenance from the earlier false association with the 1798 Battle of the Nile. The Royal Sovereign played a crucial role under Admiral Collingwood, leading the fleet while engaging multiple Spanish ships during the battle.
