Cole's French Dip Just Pushed Back Its Closure, Again
"After announcing its impending closure in July, Cole's French Dip just pushed back its last day again. Initially, the 117-year-old restaurant was slated to close at the beginning of August, before owner Cedd Moses pushed it to mid-September amid a wave of strong local support. Now, Cole's will keep its doors open until November 1. A statement from the restaurant provided to Eater points to increased patronage as the reason why Cole's has been able to stay open."
"In July, Moses told Eater there was a "litany of reasons" that led to the closure, including impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2023 writers and actors strike, rising costs, and local bureaucracy. Since the closure was announced, Cole's has seen a steady line of Angelenos hoping to get their final French dip sandwich. It seems they have a little more time to make that happen."
"After shuttering its original Eagle Rock location, Tokyo-inspired coffee shop Loop Espresso Club is back in the neighborhood. The coffee shop has reopened on the same block as Eagle Rock Italian Bakery and Deli with a stylish mid-century modern interior and menu of staple espresso drinks. In recent months, owner Dominic Abat also opened Kissaten Corazon in Chinatown."
