Hyeseong Kim showed promise in early Spring Training with an improved swing, but his performance declined significantly during the World Baseball Classic, going 1-for-12 against Korean competition. Manager Dave Roberts attributes Kim's struggles to swing mechanics being out of sync, a recurring issue the Dodgers worked to address previously. Roberts acknowledges Kim's value to the roster but emphasizes he must regain confidence and productivity at the plate. Kim recognizes the mechanical changes that occurred and is working to correct them while focusing on his strengths in baserunning and defense. His WBC performance has weakened his position in the competition for second base playing time.
