"The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled Charlie Barnes from Triple-A Oklahoma City and put Blake Snell back on the 15-day injured list before Friday's game against the Los Angeles Angels. Snell's stint is backdated to May 12. Barnes is on the Dodgers roster just under one week after they claimed him off waivers from the Chicago Cubs. Tommy Edman was transferred to the 60-day injured list at the time in order to make room for Barnes on the Dodgers' 40-man roster."
"The left-hander had been designated for assignment by the Cubs on May 6. Barnes only appeared in one game for the Cubs this year, allow four runs (three earned) over three innings pitched back on April 13. He was optioned to Triple-A Iowa the following day, returned to the Cubs roster on April 26 but was sent back to the Minors one day later."
"Although Snell is back on the injured list for a second time this season, his latest trip is due to left elbow loose bodies. It's not yet clear if he will require surgery like Edwin Díaz did. Snell missed the first six weeks of the year due to left shoulder fatigue. That stemmed from shoulder inflammation Snell dealt with early last season and again in the playoffs."
