NBA free agency: What to expect from the Lakers and Clippers
Briefly

Following the NBA draft, the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers shift focus to upcoming contract decisions and the free agency period. LeBron James and Dorian Finney-Smith must decide on their player options worth $52.6 million and $15.3 million, respectively, while James Harden is a priority for the Clippers under a $36.3 million option. The Lakers also aim to fill their center position and recently added Adou Thiero from the Timberwolves. Both teams are strategizing for the next phase of roster construction.
At that point, we'll know the tools we have to go out into free agency and fill out the roster with the draft ending tonight.
We're super hopeful that James is here and he's here for a long time. He has a player-option, so he can opt-in ... or he can opt-out and hopefully we can do a deal that makes sense for both sides.
The most pressing need for the Lakers remains a center, and they'll have to look into free agency or via trade to acquire one.
The work for that has already begun, but the focus now will turn from draft focus to free agency and we won't rest until we get it right.
