Conference bosses bullish on NIL enforcement
Briefly

Following a landmark legal settlement allowing schools to directly pay athletes, college sports commissioners expressed optimism about enforcing new NIL regulations. Bryan Seeley was appointed CEO of the College Sports Commission to oversee enforcement, but details on penalties for breaking rules remain vague. Commissioners, including ACC's Jim Phillips and Big 12's Brett Yormark, highlighted their commitment to establishing clear regulations and emphasized the importance of accountability among schools as they navigate this unprecedented shift in college athletics.
"We're in the process of developing some of those rules and structure and overall implementation of that," Phillips said. "Now that we have Bryan on board, I think we'll be able to move a little bit quicker."
"Our schools want rules, and we're providing rules, and we will be governed by those rules," Yormark said, "and if you break those rules, the ramifications will be punitive."
