Fernando Tatis Jr. has filed a lawsuit against Big League Advance (BLA) to challenge a future earnings contract he signed as a minor, which could cost him $34 million. The lawsuit alleges BLA used predatory tactics, misrepresenting itself and violating California’s lending laws. Tatis aims to protect young athletes from similar predatory financial agreements. He received $2 million upfront for a percentage of his future earnings, including any potential new contracts. His attorney argues the deal should be voided under California law, despite being signed in the Dominican Republic.
