Manchester City held a minute's appreciation before the derby against Manchester United to honour Ricky Hatton after his death. The 46-year-old, a lifelong City supporter and former world champion boxer, was found dead in his Manchester home with police saying the death was not being treated as suspicious. An image of the Stockport-born Hatton was shown on the Etihad's large screens while fans applauded and cheered. Players from both teams wore black armbands during the fixture. Pep Guardiola and Phil Foden expressed sorrow, and the club sent heartfelt condolences, noting Hatton used Blue Moon as his walkout song.
