Pep Ljinders joins coaching staff at City
Briefly

Pep Ljinders has been appointed as Pep Guardiola's assistant coach at Manchester City, following a successful tenure as Jurgen Klopp's deputy at Liverpool. Ljinders has signed a one-year contract with an option for extension, emphasizing his expertise and alignment with Guardiola’s football philosophy. He is joined by James French, a former Liverpool set-piece specialist. The changes include a shake-up in the backroom staff as Juanma Lillo, Carlos Vicens, and Inigo Dominguez have departed. Director of Football Hugo Viana expressed confidence in the new appointments as essential additions to the coaching team for the upcoming season.
Pepijn and James have each amassed huge experience working in their individual roles over the past few years.
Their talent, application, work ethic and all-round commitment are totally aligned with the values that underpin how Pep wants football to be played.
I have no doubt at all that both will prove to be very important assets for Pep and his coaching team.
We are all delighted that Pepijn and James have joined our senior coaching set-up.
