Kobbie Mainoo was overlooked for Manchester United's opening Premier League games and reportedly wanted a loan to secure more playing time before next summer's World Cup. The transfer window closed with Mainoo remaining in the squad and he entered at half-time in the 3-2 win over Burnley. Ruben Amorim expressed confidence in Mainoo's abilities while emphasising that Mainoo can still improve significantly. Amorim said he will provide opportunities when he judges Mainoo the best choice and described differences in playing style and the midfielder's calming influence during transitions.
