In Our Time is regularly one of the BBC's most listened to on-demand programmes worldwide and ranks highly among under-35s on BBC Sounds. Melvyn Bragg presented the programme for over a quarter of a century, guiding conversations across topics from the age of the Universe to Zenobia and hosting leading academics. Bragg will step down as host but will remain a friend of Radio 4, continue working with the BBC on future projects and present a new series in 2026. His BBC career began in 1961 and includes long service across the World Service and Radio 4, honours and a peerage.
