Drinking champagne could reduce risk of sudden cardiac arrest, study suggests
Briefly

A groundbreaking study has indicated that positive lifestyle changes, including increased champagne and fruit consumption, maintaining a healthy weight, and fostering a positive mindset, can lower the risk of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). Researchers analyzed data from over 500,000 individuals to identify 56 non-clinical risk factors. The findings imply that as many as 63% of SCA cases could potentially be preventable. The research, published in the Canadian Journal of Cardiology, is the first of its kind to comprehensively evaluate the impact of lifestyle and psychosocial factors on SCA risk.
The study suggests that improving lifestyle choices—like drinking champagne, eating more fruit, and cultivating a positivity—can significantly reduce the risk of sudden cardiac arrest.
Renjie Chen, a co-investigator, noted: 'We were surprised by the large proportion (40%-63%) of SCA cases that could be prevented by improving unfavourable profiles.'
