Dolphins sign former Jets tight end to futures contract
"The Miami Dolphins signed tight end Zack Kuntz to a futures contract, the team announced Friday. Kuntz, 26, was a seventh-round draft pick of the New York Jets in 2023. He has appeared in two career regular-season games, one each in 2023 and 2024. He has played three career offensive snaps and six on special teams, without recording any statistics."
"New Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan has now signed four players to futures contracts since taking over: Kuntz, wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr., linebacker Seth Coleman and safety Omar Brown. Before Sullivan's signings, Miami had made 10 other pickups on futures contracts, which allow players to join a team in the offseason with a chance to compete for a roster spot come time for the offseason workouts, organized team activities, minicamp and eventually training camp ahead of the 2026 season."
The Miami Dolphins signed tight end Zack Kuntz to a futures contract. Kuntz, 26, was a seventh-round pick by the New York Jets in 2023 and has appeared in two regular-season games across 2023 and 2024, totaling three offensive snaps and six special-teams snaps with no statistics. He spent both seasons on practice squads and was waived during roster cuts last season. Kuntz began at Penn State before transferring to Old Dominion, posting 73 catches for 692 yards and five touchdowns in his first season there; a dislocated kneecap shortened his 2022 season. New GM Jon-Eric Sullivan has added Kuntz among other futures signings.
